The beginning of the end

It's been a while since I've put something up here. Anyway, I'm supposed to talk about how my relationship to writing has changed at all over this semester of English classes. Quite honestly, I don't feel like my writing style has changed significantly. All the writing I've done has been good practice to "stay in shape," as it were, but I don't think I've really developed significantly in terms of writing style. Maybe I have, and just haven't noticed-who knows. I do like these sorts of bog assignments more than traditional essays and papers, though. Sure, they may be assigned a bit more frequently than serious papers are (with the exception of the past month, of course), but they're a lot shorter, and are free from that annoying constraint that is professional writing. I'm not a fan of formal writing- I think it ends up sounding kind of stand-offish and impersonal. Shorter but more frequent assignments are also more my style as I am a notorious procrastinator, and throwing together a 300 word blog post at 2AM is a lot easier than cobbling together a several page, 4,700 word behemoth that I'd put off for two weeks and have to finish the morning before it's due date. (It's not 2AM right now, though- this is one of the rare occasions where I'm doing my homework before midnight.) Speaking of major assignments, I haven't changed at all in my preparation for them. I'll still put them off as long as possible. For example, I have a 20 page presentation for this very class due tomorrow, and I have exactly zero slides done for it right now. I'll get on that right after I finish my next (and last) blog post.
